Obama the Boob

So the old bully Russia regains its ugly head and attacks the Republic of Georgia. And how does Obama respond? He says the United States should go to the U.N. Security Council to seek a resolution condemning the action. What a tool! Russia sits on the council and has veto power over ALL resolutions. This is the man the people of the United States want in charge of their security! God help us.

Al Gore's lunacy and hypocrisy

Some cogent comments culled from The Week:
Marlo Lewis in National Review Online: "It would take about three trillion to realize Gore's messianic energy project." Bret Stephens in the Wall Street Journal: "Gore never was one for inconvenient facts. He's forgotten that when the wind stops blowing and the sun stops shining, the power they produce ceases as well. Wind and solar will always have to be backed up by oil, coal, and nuclear. Since Gore routinely ignores both science and sense, why does anyone take him seriously?"

"The hypocrite is always happy to adopt bold solutions for other people's energy use," according to Lorne Gunter in the National Post. "Meanwhile, Gore lives in a 10,000 square -foot Tennessee mansion that 'produces a carbon footprint 20 times that of the average American home.' He and his retinue arrived for his speech in two Lincoln Town Cars and a full-size SUV. What a phony."

The Race Is On

The presidential race has formally begun. The old man who has been running for president for several years (McCain) is the closest he has ever been. Unfortunately for him, he makes real conservatives suspicious. His so-called finance reform legislation was an outright assault on free speech. He has never supported core conservative values or principles either. Obama is no more than your liberal leftie trying to pass himself off as a change agent. He loves big government, big taxes, boondoggle government welfare programs and is buried deep into the "we-are-victims" mindset that plagues all liberals. He knows nothing about international affairs and is actually a dangerous threat to the United States. Quite simply, he would be a disaster. This bodes poorly for the future of this country.

Justice Scalia

Some thoughts about Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's recent appearance on 60 Minutes. The usual suspects (left-wing nutcases like those who post for BluffingtonPost) ranted as predicted about this horrible man. Well, now for the truth.
Justice Scalia adheres to a principle of Textualism. This means he relies upon context when interpreting the constitution. The loony lefties prefer something called "the living document" approach to interpretation. This means that justices are supposed to guess at what the prevailing winds of opinion are in the country at any given time and make the constitution fit those winds. In other words, interpreting the constitution becomes whatever a majority of justices want it to mean. Now there's good law for you! The constitution of the United States means whatever at least five people think it means at the time. Of course, six months later it may mean something entirely different, but hey, let's not any rigid the law-is-the-law attitude hold us back from using the constitution to promote all sorts of nutty sociology. Remember, this is a society that is supposed to make people feel good about themselves. You know, of course, that if the Left had its way, only white businessmen would go to jail. Everyone else is a victim.

The Supreme Court is supposed to be a separate branch of the government, NOT an appendage of the legislature, which is sadly what it has become. Noted constitutional scholar Alexander M. Bickel (a liberal, by the way) warned against this when he wrote, "The radical justices who are engaged in amending the constitution are simply a body of electorally irresponsible politicians, and there can be no excuse for letting them exercise a veto over the actions of other politicians, who are responsible to the voters." Justice Scalia agreed when he wrote, "...a democratic nation does not need a written constitution to reflect current values. Elections do that. A written constitution is needed to protect values against prevailing wisdom." God bless Nino Scalia!

The Obama Reality Train

So Saint Obama, the darling of MSNBC (multiple stupid nitwits bloviate constantly), goes to the city of the looney lefties, San Francisco, and lets his true feelings slip out. He does indeed think the small-minded, gun-toting, religious fanatics who comprise the "little people", the uninformed, the truly misguided and stupid people in America, are simply incapable of understanding the reality of their pathetic and sad lives as we, the democratic intelligentsia do. When it leaks to the media, even the mainstream ABC gets a bit of backbone and challenges him on it. Result? The outraged liberals cry foul! How dare the media not ask him about the "issues" instead of these trivial matters. Of course, to the liberal nuts, these are trivial. No one among them cares if he thinks ordinary people are stupid. Of course they are. We liberals know this. So don't waste our time telling us the truth. That, my friends, is what is at stake in this election. They can rant and rave all they want about rights being lost and illegal wars, etc. It is all about making sure that those who reside in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles tell us what to do. The liberals always think they know what is best. Damn to those who can think for themselves. God help us if they get elected.

Obama and the minister

So the teflon Obama has a skeleton in his closet. The so-called minister whom he admires but criticizes ONLY after word gets out about his looney statements is still a good friend. And what does the mainstream media and the blind liberal establishment think? Yes, they posit, we don't like some of what the man says, but we respect his right to say it and we respect Obama's claim that in the nearly 20 years of attending the guy's church, he never heard any of these statements. Of course, everyone who knew the guy says these comments are commonplace but hey, we can't call saint Obama a liar now, can we? If a conservative ever had a minister utter such outrageous statements, he would be long gone from the scene. But I have long since given up hoping for fairness when it comes to the media.

The Thug Gets His Comeuppance!

Does anyone feel badly for soon-to-be-ex-governor Spitzer? I hope not, though I suspect the desperate loons called liberals, especiallyin this hopeless state, are quite downtrodden today. Their hero, the so-called "sheriff of Wall Street" is in freefall. Of course, the truth is he was a simple thug, an intimidator, nothing more. He "won" his suits as attorney general by threats, nothing more. He attacked innocent people along the way on his "crusade." In fact, his actual record of prosecutions shows he lost as many cases as he won. His victories came largely when executives decided not to go to trial, not always because of guilt but because of the time and stress and most importantly, because Spitzer would threaten to take down their families, their friends, even entire corporations. See his obscene behavior toward Mr. Whitehead for proof. He was little more than the playground bully. Now he is, like Bill and Hillary, an emperor with no clothes. I say good riddance! It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
